User Review

Firstly, bear in mind the title of this series – “Crash Course”. It’s not going to give you the information in all the detail you need.

I’ve found this book fantastic for pre-reading before lectures or seminars. It puts me on a steady footing so I can follow what the lecturers are saying without getting lost from the begining. It increases my learning oppurtunities. When I read a more advanced text BEFORE the lecture, it’s also very easy to get lost because you’ve got all this excess knowledge and vocabulary in your head and trying to put it into context without understanding first principles.

For POST reading, I recommend a more advanced textbook, such as Cardiology: An Illustrated Colour Text. This way, you know the basics, you’ve been taught what you need to know, and now you can comprehend it in your own time.
