This thorough and fairly comprehensive textbook is lucidly written and is well referenced. For the trainee in obstetrics and gynaecology it is essential background reading.

As a reference text covering both obstetrics and gynaecology it lacks coverage of some topics e.g ultrasound in obstetrics, practical procedures, but that would excessively lengthen the excellently written text.
