Sarah Gomez “With the responsibility of medication administration being solely given to the nurse, this books really breaks down all you need to know to get those meds passed without mistakes. There are a lot of examples worked through the book and a lot of practice problems at the end of each section. If you are having issues with dosage calculations, this book will take the fear out of it and help you succeed! I especially like the “Tool Box“!”
Cianne Perrino “I really wanted to like this book because I needed to learn dosage calculations in a hurry. The title is misleading. The first thing they do is teach you formulas. Or they try. Also, they teach stuff you don’t need to know (eg. Roman Numerals). The teaching part is so confusing that I had to go elsewhere to learn the formulas and how to do them. I recommend RegisteredNurseRN on YouTube. Their videos were what finally helped me figure out how to do the calculations. NRSNG.com probably has some too, but I haven’t gotten that far yet. Then this book provided some problems to work on to master the skills. I’m not sure I’d say that was a good enough reason to get the book. There are places online you can practice dosage calculations. But it was something.”
AZ Livin’ 2010 “I purchased this book ahead of having to take a medication math course. I have always had a hard time with math and most of it stems from not understanding how to work out problems or not understanding the instructor’s process. This book spells out how to do dimensional analysis and it just clicked. Once I understood that and did daily practice questions I was good. I ended up getting 100% on my final exam and definitely feel confident going into my next semesters. This book was my gold.”
Monica Gallardo “Great book and well organized BUT not really necessary. There are a whole bunch of free packets online you can easily print and put it in a binder and call it your dosage calculation book. Other than that, I think it’s pretty good
