A great reference. Too much information?

My 85 yo mother has overcome a recent bout with congestive heart failure. The information provided is more helpful than nearly 2 years of visits with cardiologists, technicians, etc. Combined with a portable EKG monitor, she can more easily determine whether a heart problem exists.

Good quick study or review of basic EKG information for tech’s and nurses.

This covers the basics. A very understandable explanation of the basics of performing an EKG and what different pieces of information that you can get from reading an EKG that tells you that you have run the test correctly or not. It does not give you the information to read an EKG for all of the diagnostic info that allows one to make a cardiac diagnosis. Good for 1st or 2nd year medical students who have never performed a lot of EKGs but totally inadequate for 3rd & 4th year students. This is also a good review for nurses who do not run EKGs frequently. This is everything that you need to know if you are called for a code, to be learned before ever participating in a code, not when you are just called for a code. This has all the information that the new EKG tech needs to know when first starting out.

6 laminated pages will be a good overview of rhythms and identification for my ACLS class. Print is slightly small but tolerable. I love it! My only suggestion for the future, would be to show the rhythm blocks/strip behind the examples so it would be easy to determine the rates.

Small print and a glossy finish make this a bit difficult to read but it is big help. This with the Kardia moniter I bought helps me know how my heart is behaving. It is no substitue for seeing the cardiologist but it helps me understand what he is taking about on a deeper level.

I’m in PA school and EKGs, for whatever reason, have been a struggle for me. This handy little pamphlet has been a huge help. Everything is laid out very simply in one place. It takes a lot of the fluff out that some other sources include. Best of all, you can store it in a folder or binder so it’s easy to bring with you wherever you need. The product is laminated so it’s very sturdy and can take a reasonable amount of wear. A must buy!
