(4.5 stars) – opposites distract!

Alexis & Bridger are both carrying a lot of damage since their shared childhoods. They’re oil & vinegar, but they have been there for each other thru all of life’s storms.

The dialogue is snappy & fun & occasionally pain-filled. The story is interspersed with flashbacks to their past which incrementally fills us in on their shared history as things progress. And each piece pulls us deeper into the story.

I wasn’t even sure if I was interested in this, initially, and ended up staying awake all night to finish reading it.

I love that it covered some seriously difficult stuff, but was never a downer or excessively angsty. I enthusiastically recommend it!

This is the first time I have read a book by Emily Childs and I will definitely look for more of her books in the future. I am not necessarily a fan of rock star romances but this storyline blew me away. Not only was the book well written, the characters had depth, the push and pull was just the perfect amount and while the book really had no steam, you somehow still were pulling for Bridger & Alexis nor will you be able to stop turning those pages. As a reader I was not only invested in this story but am also invested in the secondary characters and want to read their stories as well. That, in itself, should tell you that Our Secret Song is definitely recommend so you too can enjoy this amazing storyline and plot. I cannot stress enough to NOT pass up this book, it’s a definite one-click read.
Even though I did receive an advanced review copy of this book, I also purchased the book/read with Kindle Unlimited and am voluntarily leaving my own unsolicited opinion with my voluntary review.

This novel is so good. I loved Bridge and Alexis. They are so sweet. The book really handled hard topics such as addiction really well. I loved Parker. He is so sweet and I cannot wait for his book to come out. The romance is amazing. I loved how it was a beautiful slow burn. The two might appear to hate each other but how they care for the other is amazing. Bridge is so sweet and deeply cares. He’s made mistakes but really redeems himself. I also like that this book featured metal music. I love metal so this makes it extra special. Highly recommend this book.

OMH! Absolutely adore Bridger & Alexis!! Or Al. Or Lexie. Whatever she’s called by those who love her at any given time. 😉

From the cover & blurb, I was expecting more of a romcom, but this story turned out even better! Yes, there are lots of LOL moments with the banter & Al’s word vomit moments, but it’s so much more. Heartfelt emotion and relationships, a frenemies situation that’s never TRULY enemy-driven. Family of both blood and choice. And an epic love that leaps off the page!!
