This guide by Jill Weisenberger is both comprehensive and engaging. As a biochemist and medical editor of many years, what impressed me first, was the book’s organization and style. Many guides and informative books written for patients and the lay public seem to be designed more like textbooks, than something that provides “news you can use.” The style of this guide is clear and concise, and the encouragement for the reader/support member, to create achievable, short-term goals makes the Guide all the more valuable. I should also mention that Ms. Weisenberger’s guide also provides an ample number of worksheets, to help the reader along and to help track progress. This is invaluable, in making goals and commitments more tangible – and achievable.

The Guide is also a handy size and very readable, which makes it portable, as well. One of the hurdles, for individuals wanting to make positive changes to their lifestyle – and health – is that resource materials should be readily available. This is an excellent resource, for those who want to know more about Prediabetes PDF and how to make positive lifestyle changes.

Last fall I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes, and began trying to educate myself about what it is and what I need to do about it. My doctor gave me some information, but I still needed more help. Thankfully, I found this book that explains things so well. In addition, it gave me strategies to use to reach my goals. I especially liked the section on specific foods for diabetes prevention, suggesting some foods that were good for me to eat, rather than just telling me what not to eat. I was able to fine-tune the changes I made in order to find something that would work for me.

During a recent checkup my doctor told me I was “borderline pre-diabectic”. This was concerning because I have coronary heart disease. I am a recent retiree with plans to do volunteer work and to travel, diabetes could alter those plans. So this book is “just what the doctor ordered”. Jill has done an excellent job of explaining diabetes and it’s effect in an easy to understand manner. She doesn’t just tell you to live a healthy lifestyle, she actually lays out the steps and provides the tools and techniques to do it. This book is empowering me to take charge, reset, and reverse my doctor’s diagnosis.

This is a book you’ll enjoy reading the first time through, but don’t expect it to just sit on your shelf after that! Whether you start at the beginning and work your way through step by step, or head straight to the sections addressing your greatest challenges, this book is giving you 24/7 access to advice from a top diabetes expert. — I love the tips for becoming a savvy grocery shopper. It’s not all about what you eat, though, and you’ll find straight talk about sleep and physical activity. If you’ve set goals to get healthier before but faced disappointing results, you’ll appreciate the attention the author provides to help you “get your head in the game” to face the challenge of changing habits. — If you or someone you love is dealing with Prediabetes PDF , it’s time to change the game. Let this book be the ticket to help you. I’m a registered dietitian nutritionist, and I will be highly recommending this to many people.

It is a very informative book. I bought it because my blood sugar was elevated on my blood diagnostic results. I was scared and tried to find a systematic way to control it, preventing my condition sliding towards diabetes. By reading through the book, I find out the importance of regular exercise, how to modify my diet. Through out a 6 months plan following the book’s rich instructions, I was able to loose 20 lb, and permanently establish a habit of eating healthy food. Thank goodness I found this book!

I found Jill’s book to be easy to read, and at last I think I have a better understanding of Prediabetes PDF , Type II and Type I, plus understanding the blood glucose levels. I also found it encouraging, knowing we can start to take these small changes into our daily life and start to feel better. Taking one of Jill’s quotes, You are in the driver’s seat. No matter where you are starting today, you can influence your future health.

Well into the Kindle version with a recent diagnosis of pre-diabetes, I will do whatever it takes
to avoid diabetes. This book may be the answer. I appreciate the extent of valuable information, charting ideas,
way to overcome habits and so much more.
I skipped over parts of the book that don’t apply: obesity, family meals, logic behavior, etc. The author omits inclusion of single adults, elders, people without kids or family to cook for. So I skipped over that too.
