The six pillars of resilience are: physical vitality, emotional equilibrium, mental toughness and clarity, spiritual purpose, healthy personal relationships, and being an inspiring leader and part of a wider community or team. Dr. Selhub explains why each of these foundations is crucial to flourishing, how fortifying them gives us a base for attacking stress, hardship, and failure head-on, and how this confrontation then develops the strength we need for transformative change within our personal and professional lives.

I was dying of muscular pain so bad I was drinking about a fifth of liquor and smoking a lot of pot to self medicate and sleep. I was very discouraged and like I said, dying and wasting away. Someone at church gave me this book just as I was not able to go the church anymore and I followed Perlmutter’s advice and was off liquor and pot in 2 days. I am strong and healthy again and have hope to live a good life. Just in time. I have been to all the different disciplines of practitioners and totally stumped what was wrong with me. Horrible muscle cramping. THANK-YOU DOC!! Gluten is the devil! he he. I’m making a lot of kefir, kombucha, fermented foods now and losing weight too.

An informative study aid with illustrations and descriptions throughout to provide you with a quick and reference guide on orthopaedics and trauma.
Written by a team of experts and predominantly targeted at GPs, GP registrars, junior doctors and study aid for doctors in training.
Scans, images and line drawings which provide guidance on the diagnosis, treatment and management of orthopaedic conditions.
Not being a doctor myself I still found the book interesting and intriguing.

This is a very good quality and well produced resource book intended to help with better understanding the diagnosis, treatment and management of orthopaedic conditions which is perfect for students studying orthopaedics (specific routes or general student doctors/nurses), physiotherapists, sports physicians and other healthcare professionals. Much of this is focused on assessing an orthopedic condition initially and the book is incredibly helpful on that front with tons of diagrams, illustrations, x-rays, scans and photos to support the written text. Through this and the 24 very well laid out and indexed chapters the book is very user friendly and it’s easy to head straight to a specific body part or issue. A brilliant resource for any healthcare professional exposed to musculoskeletal/orthopaedic related disorders.

I really liked this book. I feel that I am more informed about the effects of HIIT on my body and how to properly execute multiple common HIIT moves and what areas of the book it utilizes. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn about how and why HIIT is considered a superior exercise by all those who enjoy it

Only the second book in my life that I would say is “life-changing or life-altering”. After reading this book I could never go back to eating the way I used to. I believe I have control of my health and can avoid some of the big diseases we all feel are random: dementia, Alzheimers, MS, ADHD, depression, obesity. My husband is on disability for 8 years due to “cognitive/memory issues”. After one week gluten free and on pre and probiotics, he is more present, more conversational, cracks a joke occasionally, looks different/better. I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars on finding the cause and treatment for his issues. I am finally confident he had a leaky gut that affected his brain…following this plan of gluten free has given me back my husband. Thank you Dr. Perlmutter!
