The Authors

Mr. Griffin, Assistant Dean of the Charlton College of Business, is a graduate of Providence College (BS 1980) and Bryant University (formerly Bryant College) (MBA 1982). He is also the Internship Director for the college. Mr. Griffin has worked for a number of employers including Fleet National Bank, E.F. Hutton and Company, and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston. Joining the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 1986, Mike served as Assistant to the Dean in the College of Business and Industry while teaching in the Accounting and Finance department. He has also taught in the Marketing/Business Information Systems department. His current course load includes Principles of Accounting, Cost Accounting, Advanced Managerial Accounting and Personal Finance.

He is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and a Certified Financial Manager (CFM), both designations are awarded by the Institute of Management Accountants. In addition, Michael holds the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation from the American College and is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Mr. Griffin is the author of many business books and has developed several software packages both for commercial and academic use. His latest book, MBA Fundamentals: Accounting and Finance was published by Kaplan Publishing. His latest educational tool is a study sheet/chart called Strategic Finance and International Journal of Enterprise Information Systems. He has been a consultant to a number of textbook publishers, including McGraw-Hill, Irwin, Addison Wesley, Pearson Education and Prentice Hall and has developed for software for many software publishers including KMT Software Inc. Corel, Canon and Templatezone.com.

Michael is a past recipient of the Thomas J. Higgins Award for Excellence in Teaching Award.

Michael lives Swansea, Massachusetts, is married and has four children. He is an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics.

Joseph “I use this chart in conjunction with a Trigger Point book by Clare Davies,- a tera cane,- and a 36 inch foam roller. The chart helps me find the muscle area I am looking for after identifying the pain origin from the Trigger Point book.There are procedures in the book that can be used to relieve the pain by using your hands and fingers, and the tera cane is very helpful in applying pressure to back areas which you cannot reach yourself. Finally just lying on the foam roller for about 5-8 minutes can take away an amazing amount of discomfort that probably is equal to what you would get from a chiropractor. There is a lot of self help on the internet and a huge amount of positive support for these items so goggle them and look up the reliable information.

These items are all available on the websites if you want to familiarize yourself with these products. I personally am not affiliated with – I am just a customer who finds a great place to shop and I pay a lot of attention to the reviews to help me make a buying / or not buying decision.”

David “I bought this against the advice of many reviewers. Bad decision. It’s a nice, high quality card that gives no instructions whatsoever. I advise you to skip it and buy The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook: Your Self-Treatment Guide for Pain Relief, 2nd Edition instead. Good luck. Look up the Thera cane, too.”

brianna “Great poster. The only issue is that I didn’t know I was paying for something that looks like it was made in someone’s home. It’s two pieces of paper laminated together. The poster is small compared to what I thought and can be folded due to it being to pieces of paper (laminated) instead of one.”

Hamlet “This is a lovely and large chart of pressure points (I assume). However, every muscle is indicated in medical terminology and there are no instructions on how to use it. Some of the names point to areas with a dot and others don’t. What does that mean? I wound up purchasing an book as a companion read. I hope I can make sense of it, otherwise I wasted my money twice.”

Allyson Strobel “The BEST book! I was told by several doctors that my hip pain was caused by my back! Had two fusion and it did nothing only gave me horrible back pain. Fell into a trigger point doc and he gave me robaxin, chlochichine, and zanaflex and it has calmed down my pain so much!! This book was so helpful to understand the pain areas and how to fix, get the book!”

Sarah “This is a very easy chart to look at. It folds down to approximately A4 size. Is punched for inserting into a ring binder. As a reflexologist, I don’t need to see these muscles, but I do need to be aware of them. Having this is very handy.”
