Explains medical statistics simply for numerically-challenged medical student dunces like myself

Bought this to help me learn about statistical analysis for a clinical audit I undertook. I’m still a medical student and I’m terrible at maths but found this book immensely helpful. It not only explains basic statistical tools in medical research, but it also teaches how to pick statistical methods based on your type of research, gives suggestions for what computer software can be used.

A must have and not just for the clinical scientist

The Oxford Handbook on Medical Statistics is a must have and I refer to it a few times a week as I am analyzing data using R or just planning my analysis. It’s easy to carry around the product quality is high. It will not wear down for overuse and its papers will not come off the bind. I like these so much I have two! One for home and one for the office.
In a quick a compact format you can get all you need to choose the right test and instructions on how to implement and what to check for before and after testing. There are examples from literature which are accessible and useful. There is a section in the beginning that talk about all part so the research process from proposal to data collection to reporting. The last two sections are on meta-analyses and a primer on Bayesian methods.
